The American Lung Association of Maine is proud to announce its newest healthy activity and fundraising event!
Step-n-Trek was designed to welcome those who are not able to ride a bike 180 miles, to become an active participant in this big event, but in a new way.
The Step-n-Trek Walking program uses an interactive website to help participants track their progress, virtually along the Trek Across Maine route.
The Trek Across Maine is a three-day bike tour organized by the American Lung Association of Maine, to support their mission to; lead in lung health promotion and lung disease prevention for Maine. Over 2,300 people gather each year in support of the Trek; riders, volunteers, sponsors, staff and board members.
The program culminates at the annual Trek Across Maine, where all Step-n-Trek walkers are invited to complete the final mile of their 180 mile walking trek along the actual bike route. For Step-n-Trek participants, it is rewarding to finish their virtual Trek as part of the powerful reality of the Trek Across Maine!
All bike Trekkers and Step-n-Trekkers are part of a remarkable, unified effort to support the work of the American Lung Association. For cyclists and walkers alike, it is extraordinary to arrive at the Trek, after logging hundreds of miles in training, and to see the magnitude of the effort that they are a part of!
