Income Tax Check -Off

This tax season people have a new way to support the ALAME mission and further lung disease research. On the Maine Income Tax return, people can now check off that they'd like a portion of their return dedicated to asthma and lung disease research.

Our organization is working closely with the Maine Center for Disease Control to assure that the funds raised by the tax check off will be used to support quality research. For more information click here.

Our mission is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Along with our public health partners, we have an impressive track record of fighting tuberculosis in the 20th century and in our current battle against tobacco use. The nearly 60% drop in youth smoking over the past 10 years will result in the prevention of thousands of cases of lung disease.

Part of promoting lung health also involves assuring that those with lung disease receive quality, affordable and accessible care. Most of our research funding supports projects designed to help those with lung disease achieve the highest level of functioning possible.
